Designated Campsites

TimberWest maintains the following designated campsites on Vancouver Island:

First Nanaimo Lake Campsite

LOCATION Approximately 35km southwest of Nanaimo BC, TimberWest's Nanaimo Lakes Campsite is located on the shores of First Lake. 
COST May-October 2011: $17.50/night without a reservation (Reservations are available, minimum night stay required for some campsites)

GATE HOURS 8am-8pm, 7 days a week (Check-in with campsite hosts)
FIREWOOD Available for purchase onsite while campfires are permitted.
CAMPFIRES Are currently permitted.

Please note: TimberWest land beyond Second Lake is an active worksite and public access is not permitted.

Heather Campsite

LOCATION Heather Campsite is located on the lake next to Heather Mountain. Take either South Shore Road or North Shore Road about 38 km (24 miles) around Cowichan Lake to reach the campsite. If you take North Shore Road, you'll find the entrance before the turn off to the Carmanah. There are 47 camping sites, eight that are double wide for groups and 12 on the beach between the main camp and the boat ramp one kilometer further along the road. 
COST May-October 2011: $17.50/night without a reservation, $22.50/night with a reservation

Caycuse Campsite

LOCATION Caycuse is a south side campground with 26 sites among the forest, some with lovely lake views. It has a boat launch, pit toilets, wooden tables, steel fire rings, some with grills, garbage cans and five water taps. Boiling the water is advised.
COST May-October 2011: $17.50/night without a reservation, $22.50/night with a reservation

CAMPFIRES Are currently permitted. 

Kissinger Lake Campsite

LOCATION Located on the shores of Kissinger Lake near Lake Cowichan, Kissinger is a small lake stocked with rainbow trout, has 26 sites among trees, eight with a lake view. 
COST May-October 2011: $17.50/night without a reservation, $22.50/night with a reservation
