A large amount of rain and wind has been forecast for Vancouver Island and the BC Coast. Already winds have knocked out power to more than 7000 BC Hydro customers, and it is expected that the weather will worsen Friday and Saturday.

TimberWest is managing its operations according to our rainfall-shutdown criteria that promotes due-diligence by our Contractors to use caution and suspend operations if safety or environmental concerns are raised.

We urge our Contractors and staff to remain safe, and we ask that the public use caution over the weekend when accessing our open gates at Comox Main in the North Island, and Nanaimo Lakes in the South Island.
