May 16, 2016 VANCOUVER – TimberWest Forest Corp. is pleased to celebrate its 15 year partnership with the Pacific Salmon Foundation (the Foundation). The partnership began in 2002 to facilitate restoration of Pacific salmon streams on Vancouver Island. Since its inaugural donation, TimberWest has contributed over $1.1 million to hundreds of projects located on Vancouver Island.

“The Pacific Salmon Foundation is a leader in salmon science and habitat protection and restoration,” said, Jeff Zweig, President and CEO of TimberWest. “We are very proud of the work the Foundation has done to date, and we look forward to our continued partnership.”

The contributions made by TimberWest have supported the hundreds of dedicated volunteers and researchers who monitor watersheds, develop rehabilitation projects, and advocate for the conservation and protection of Pacific salmon species. During the Foundation’s annual Vancouver Gala hosted on Friday evening May 6, TimberWest presented a further donation of $40,000.

“It’s partners like TimberWest who make it possible for us to continue our research, outreach and education on wild Pacific Salmon, one of B.C.’s most iconic species,” said Foundation CEO Brian Riddell, “The health of our salmon is a direct indication of the health of our ecosystems, and this year’s generous donation will be integral to the Foundation as we deliver on our science, research and habitat restoration projects on Vancouver Island.”

TimberWest is Western Canada’s largest private forest land owner, and the Pacific Salmon Foundation is an independent organization dedicated to rebuilding healthy, sustainable and naturally diverse Pacific Salmon stocks.
